A full 3 months of not getting my hair done, needing a haircut and hiding my grown out roots has made me very crafty when it comes to new hair styles and accessories. I have actually had a lot of fun playing around with top knots, ponytails and silk hair ties. Not feeling the hair accessories? No worries, tie back your hair and throw on a bold statement earring, you will be good to go! Summer is here and it’s time for slicked back hair, minimal styling and ” just got out of the pool” hair styles. Check out some of my favorite products below for summer hair and my new favorite accessories, earrings included!

My summer sunscreen routine is tried and true! I have been using the tinted Elta MD on my skin for years and LOVE it! It’s a broad-spectrum SPF 46 for sensitive, acne-prone skin and it’s oil free. I tend to breakout during the summer, especially when using a heavy sunscreen but not with Elta MD. It’s lightweight but still strong enough to block off all of those harmful rays. (They make various products so if you have dry skin, check out this product).
Now more then ever I am finding that it is super important to keep up with my skincare routine. I am home like the rest of us, drinking more than I have in the past, not eating my normal healthy meals and of course eating way more dessert (which I actually enjoy) than I have in the past. I have moments of extreme motivation with my workouts and yoga but overall not excercising as consistently as I would like to…..Oh well, it’s SHELTER IN get out of exercise for FREE card.
Ahhh where do I even start with my hair ;((( EEEkkkk it’s the first time in my life I actually wish I wasn’t a blonde (ok I don’t actually mean that lol). I have decided that my color is out of my hands…nothing that can be done about it for the next month or so. I decided to concentrate (on mastering the top knot lol) and keeping my hair healthy with treatments.
Now, more than ever, it’s ALL about the dry shampoo! Ha! Why wash everyday? Unless you are Zooming all day while on conference calls, you are probably doing what I am doing, right? Washing your hair every 3 days or so? In between those washes, use dry shampoo! It’s been around and going strong since the 70’s for a very good reason! Remember all those elaborate hair styles in the 60’s? Women would go to the salon and get their hair style done for the week and maintain it with dry shampoo (or baby powder) until they could see their stylist again. I have been using it for years and I am not quite sure what I would do without it!
