A couple of weeks ago, I had the awesome pleasure of performing The Vagina Monologues along with my bestie, Brandi Glanville and Carole Radziwill. If you are not familiar with The Vagina Monologues, then you have been living under a rock for the last 10 years…JK, that was so mean! But in all seriousness, if you haven’t heard of it, look it up! It’s such a great show.
It is an episodic play written by Eve Ensler and has been performed by some of the most incredible actors of our time such a Meryl Streep, Claire Danes, Glenn Close, Viola Davis and Jane Fonda (just to name a few). The Vagina Monologues has been performed all over the world, in over 120 countries, and the performances generally benefit rape crisis centers and similar resource centers for women.
This was the first time I have ever been involved in a play… I had never done anything like it. I had attended The Vagina Monologues about 10 years ago with my mom in NYC and I just remember the play being so powerful and moving. It is truly one of a kind!
Needless to say, when I was asked to perform the monologues with my best girlfriends, I was over the moon and completely petrified because I felt so out of my element. The Vagina Monologues was held at the beautifully renovated TEXAN Theatre in Greenville, Texas. The show was a hit and I am so happy we were able to raise money for an incredibly charity. Needless to say, I hope I get another opportunity to be a part of this incredible play.
