Now that our new normal includes wearing a mask in the heat of summer, I’m sure we are all thinking the same thing…MY SKIN!!! UGH…I have already noticed a huge huge difference in my chin and lower cheeks that has lead me to put my facialist on speed dial! Wearing a mask saves lives but it also may cause…masknee…here are some tips on how to avoid breakouts!
This year, back to school will look very different for all of us. There is a lot of uncertainty as to what will happen but regardless of whether we homeschool our children at the kitchen table or walk them to the bus stop, we are all in need of new school supplies and clothing!
You had me at linen! This is one of my absolute favorite fabrics! To me, linen is chic, always in style and most important, you can get away with a few wrinkles! It is easy, breezy and perfect for summer. I am loving this puff-sleeve romper by WeWoreWhat. Each year, I add a few linen pieces to my closet and this year I am seeing such cute designs from numerous stores! Check out some of my favorite linen summer must-haves below!
I am so so excited to share with you my fun new mask collaboration that just launched with Tucker NYC!! I have been working with Tucker for years and I am obsessed with their clothing. Now that it is mandatory to wear masks due to Covid, I was so excited when Tucker asked me to design a mask for them!! Woohoo!! The first thing that I thought of when I started to think of designs was that since the mouth was covered up, why not feature cute retro lips! Kiss, kiss! If you are looking for a fun mask, this is the one for you! It comes in a 5-pack with 2 white and 2 black as well as a bonus blue and white striped mask. 5 masks, for $50! Each mask has space for a filter, 3 layers of 100% cotton and machine washable!
Since our new normal is covering up, cover up but keep it super chic.
Kiss, Kiss!
This is the summer of the ROAD TRIP! It seems as if every conversation I’ve had this month is about major changes in summer plans. European vacations and Caribbean cruises have turned into a good old fashioned American road trip.
I happen to be a huge fan of road trips! I have such fond childhood memories of my family traveling across the country, from CT to CA and back. Road tripping is just an amazing and easy way to see the country. You can curate your travel to fit your families needs and even add in spontaneous stops. How about our beautiful national parks? Any road trip is fun but also an educational experience.
My family and I have been out of NYC for some time now and staying with my family in CT. We will be leaving from Farmington, CT and driving all the way to Los Angeles, CA. We had thought about renting an RV but decided to take our car and stay at fab places along the way! Glamping anyone?!?When we leave CT we will hit Gettysburg, Chicago area, up to Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon! I can’t wait!
The big question is what to pack on a 2-week road trip with limited laundry services…yup…you heard me…2 weeks!
Ok, so I decided to start with the bags. Each family member is allowed a Lands End duffle bag. I decided a duffel would be easier to carry and soft/moldable and easy to fit in the car. I told everyone that they can bring whatever they can fit in their bag, nothing else!
I, myself, have decided to to pack simple and comfortable. I have to say I have officially lived in NYC too long because packing like this is actually really hard for me!
It’s all about sticking to basics; jean shorts, tank tops, cardigans, sneakers, flip flops, track suits and leggings. Below is a list of what is going in my duffle bag! I always pack one nice outfit because you never know! 😉
Wish us luck! Off to California we go! Stay tuned and follow my Instagram stories from the road!
Summertime and the living is easy! Well…kind of! Just about the only thing that is easy in life right now is getting dressed in the morning. Summer always allows for soft, easy and breathable fabrics. Silk is one of my favorite fabrics so I have quite a few go-to pieces I wear in the summer. I recently found this fab tie dye silk ensemble at Bloomingdales! Since we are on the topic of tie dye, I am also obsessed with this jumpsuit, the latest and greatest addition to my closet. Two of my favorites looks for this summer season!
The floral lip trend, first spotted on the catwalks last spring, is inspired by nature, focusing on floral tones. Since we are all wearing masks and it’s virtually impossible to wear a bold lip, it’s time to stick to neutral colored lipsticks. The easiest way to achieve this washed out look is to start off by applying concealer all over your lips. The second step is to dab a floral hued lipstick to the center of your lips and then blur the lipstick until you reach the edges. This is an awesome makeup trend for this summer! Here are some of my favorite floral hues of the summer:
