Makeup Monday- Masknee

Now that our new normal includes wearing a mask in the heat of summer, I’m sure we are all thinking the same thing…MY SKIN!!! UGH…I have already noticed a huge huge difference in my chin and lower cheeks that has lead me to put my facialist on speed dial! Wearing a mask saves lives but it also may cause…masknee…here are some tips on how to avoid breakouts!

Ok, so we know that masks are not going anywhere for quite some time so step 1 is be sure to clean your mask! I have been washing my cotton ones after every 3 wears and hanging it to air dry (dryer can shrink them)! If I go to a market or doctors appointment I try to wear a disposable mask so that it can be thrown away after one wear.

Now onto the skin! Double wash at the end of the night! I start off by using a makeup wipe (Oil Free Neutrogena to be exact) followed by gently scrubbing my face using Chantecaille Rice and Geranium foam cleanser or Cetaphil. I then use toner to clean my skin of any additional toxins before applying my nightly face and eye cream!

Now more than ever you need to take care of your skin and find the right products. If you have oily skin, make sure to opt for oil-free products. I really like EltaMD products as well as La Roche Posay.

Looking for a spot treatment? You HAVE to try this! It has worked wonders for me! Overall, my advice is to keep your skin clean and even more important, keep your mask clean! Find the right products and keep away that masknee!!
