One more check off my nonexistent bucket list!
What can I say…I’m a tourist at heart! This post isn’t about fashion, it’s more about passion and the drive that ROCKY had; the will to go on and experience everything this crazy world has to offer. I know I talk about my bucket list (that doesn’t really exist) but if I had one, visiting the Rocky statue would definitely be on it! I’ve wanted to run (walk) up those infamous stairs for a long time and I finally had to chance to do it!
I travelled to Philly to host a Bloomingdale’s makeup event and decided to stay an extra day in order to stop at the touristy hot spots. First stop on my list, retracing Rocky’s famous footsteps. This was really such a cool experience. My son Cash has recently become obsessed with the Rocky franchise so needless to say, lately, I have been watching Rocky quite a bit. His story and drive is fresh in my mind so running up those steps was such a thrill. There were tons of people running up the steps and there was even a guy holding a boom box (yes, a boom box) playing the Rocky theme song. Thanks sir for the perfect tune and getting everyone in the Rocky spirit.
Next on our stop… The Liberty Bell. It was kind of surreal to be standing in front of the Liberty Bell, knowing that this was the place where a public reading of the Declaration of Independence was held. Knowing that Colonel John Nixon read the Declaration of Independence on July 8, 1776, right were I was standing, is so fascinating.
Last but certainly not least, a trip to Genos/ Pats to get try their infamous Philly cheesesteak. HA! I had asked everyone where to go to get the best Philly cheesesteak and EVERYONE responded with either Pats or Genos, but NOBODY mentioned that they were right across the street from each other. HELLOOOO!!! I mean talk about competition. Too funny! I decided on Pats, simply because the line was shorter lol. This was the first time I’ve tried a cheesesteak and boy oh boy was it worth the wait! I’m not going to lie, it looks really gross and I was seriously concerned with how I was actually going to eat it haha. So yummy!!
