Camo is Calling

Growing up, my Dad and uncles would hunt behind our house. I always remember how they would get out of their trucks wearing fleece camo jackets. Well, here we are, 20 years later and I just bought this fab fleece camo jacket from Nordstrom.  Ha! Who would have thought those hunting jackets would one day be stylish and trendy? I feel like all I have to do is raid my parents coat closet to find the latest trends in fashion: (chunky sneakers, plaid shirts, shearling coats…I could go on and on). Good news, looks like my Pops is a super cool dude and ahead of the fashion game lol! Continue Reading

My Favorite Trends in Camo

Camo, camo everywhere!  My husband keeps telling me “enough with the camo” but I keep saying you can never have enough camo. To me, camo is similar to neutral tones such as white, taupe, ivory or black. I feel as if you find the right shade of camo, it basically pairs well with just about everything. If I’m late and need to run out the door, I throw on my camo jacket and I’m off. I feel like a camo jacket just pulls a look together and adds a little something extra compared to a jean jacket.

Enough about camo jackets and lets talk about these Madewell camo sweats! How fun are these? They look great with sneakers but they’re also perfect to wear with a cozy sweater and comfy Uggs. Here are some of my favorite camo items of the season so far: Continue Reading

The Shearling Coat: A Winter Staple

Shearling coats scream fall to me! Each season, I dig back into the depths of my closet and pull out my oh so trusty shearling coat. This is one of those fabulous and seamless styles that will be trendy forever! If you don’t want to buy a new shearling coat this fall, just raid your moms closet! I bet you she has one in there you can borrow! Ha!

Below are some of my favorite shearling coats: Continue Reading

The Cropped Puffer

The cropped puffer is a look that has become super popular. All the biggest celebs are wearing cropped puffers in the most unique ways. Think Kim K wearing a cropped puffer with biker shorts…Ok, so I can’t bring myself to style it out that way but it works for her! However, I can totally join in on the cropped puffer trend! If you live in a super cold climate (like me), this is a great transitional coat that can be layered. I wore mine with a comfy long sleeve shirt from The Striped Sheep but it can honestly be paired with anything.

The Teddy Bear Coat

Ahhh, the teddy bear coat. Can we just talk about how last year I was obsessed with this trend but never thought it would stick around. I didn’t buy into the trend but this year it’s back and looks like it’s here to stay. So, naturally, I had to buy two different versions of this oh so comfy teddy bear coat. Continue Reading

The Perfect Look for a Coffee Date

Where am I off to you ask!? Ahhh, getting a cup of coffee of course! Ok so I have a question for you all. When should I stop drinking ice coffee and switch to hot?!? Is there some sort of unspoken rule? Is the pumpkin spice late as good as everybody says it is? Love my new coffee adventures! Fall is that fun time of the year where you can wear a big cozy sweater but still wear comfy slides. It’s not quite time for a jacket but a heavy sweater will do the trick! I love this one from Free People but they just sold out of this color. No worries, there are other fab colors available here! Plaid Please!

When each fall rolls around, I’m always thinking of easy ways to update my wardrobe. Adding in a few pieces here and there is the best way to freshen up my old faithfuls from last year. This year, I am loving this plaid blazer. It’s a great look for work or in my case, the perfect upgrade to my trusty jean jacket. Remember, fall is all about layering and this piece is ideal for just about any occasion. Oh, and I can’t forget to tell you about my new favorite patent loafers! They are made by Vionic and BEYOND comfortable. Nothing better than chic and happy feet!

Lady in a Red Wrap Dress

This lady in red says comfy is always the best way to go! A long wrap dress that’s flattering yet chic is always at the top of my list.Love this dress because the fabric doesn’t wrinkle too easy and it’s a great year-round go-to. Pair it with slides to dress it down or pumps for a night out! Either way, you’ll feel great! Oh, and this dress runs a little big so I would size down if you’re not sure what size to order. (For reference I am wearing a Small).

*This is another great option if this style is no longer available in your size.
