Spring is already here! Can you believe it? It feels like just yesterday we were watching designers showcase their spring/summer 2020 collections at NYFW. Now we are seeing those trends trickle down to our favorite stores and I am LOVING it! Warm and sunny days are no longer a distant daydream, so it is time to update your wardrobe with fresh and fabulous spring clothing. 

I have been shopping around for the latest spring trends and one of my favorite go-to stores is Walmart! They have the most fashionable transitional pieces that are absolute staples for everyone’s wardrobe. Spring is all about layers and you are bound to find those perfect pieces while browsing the trending fashion section on Walmart.com. I found some of my favorite go-to pieces for this spring season, everything from shoes to clothes to outwear and accessories! 

Walmart has the most amazing pieces by wonderful designers at the most brilliant prices! One of my favorite pieces is this silk cami zebra slip dress with adjustable straps. It fits true to size, it’s lightweight and the ideal transitional piece. The black and tan color combo allows you to ease into spring colors and this faux leather jacket, worn over the shoulders, is the perfect spring statement. Easter Sunday is just a few days away and all of us are in the same situation, quarantined and away from many of our loved ones. I usually drive to Connecticut to spend the holiday with my family but not this year. I am planning on doing an egg hunt inside the house, eating lots of chocolate and making my family dress up for our yearly family photo.

Tie Dye for days! This is a trend that hasn’t ever really gone away (thanks to hippies and of course, kindergarten teachers around the world). However, this season, it’s definitely become more mainstream than in the past. When every designer, from Balmain to Walmart, has tie dye looks in their collections, you know that it’s officially a “thing”.

Stay home, self isolate and keep calm. Eeeek! It’s not a joke, you are not dreaming, it’s all just so so horrible. I know ;( The first of week of quarantine, we were home in NYC and I spent the whole time cleaning and organizing. Then, we decided that it would be best to leave NYC and spend some time out east at a friends house. So my attention quickly switched from organizing to packing! What does one pack to stay in quarantine indefinitely? Umm…tracksuits, cozy sweatpants…basically anything cute, cozy and comfy.

Recently, I transported myself back to 1962! We ALL know (hello Elvis) that this is my favorite era…obsessed with everything from the 60’s; music, culture, men and of course, the fashion! When I heard the the infamous TWA hotel had been refurbished and was open for business, I had to see it for myself! For those of you who aren’t farmilir with the TWA Hotel, click here for the history. Has anyone seen Catch Me If You Can with Leonardo DiCaprio? This hotel was featured in that movie and many others.

This morning, the president just announced another 30 days of social distancing…We all know this is the right thing to do BUT another 30 days seems like forever ;( Good news is that we are all in the same boat. I have been keeping myself busy with homeschooling, blogging and focusing on the little things that make me feel great and lift my spirits!

I have noticed that many of us, including myself, spend most of our days in sweatsuits. I also realize many of us are wearing our glasses! Growing up in New England has you wearing a cardigan pretty much all year round. It feels funny to be talking about cardigans as “spring” accessories but it’s a year round must have!

The weight of the wool may change from a heavy to lighter knit but a trustee cardi should always be top of mind and front of closet. A cardigan is the perfect layering piece and my go-to when I feel like I have been wearing my jean jacket too often. During these crazy times of staying home and quarantined, nothing feels better than wearing a cozy cardigan sweater!

Who else remembers the Seinfeld episode with the ruffled shirt? LOL! Hilarious! Well, I actually got my inspiration for this look from fashion week shows. Ruffles are back with vengeance. 🙂 And the vest…don’t even get me started…all of a sudden it’s all about the vest! I’m loving these cool sleeper trends; looks that have been around since the turn of the century are trendier than ever!
