Throw back Thursday – a great coat seems to always be instyle! This was my first time working with the O Magazine 17 years ago! And today I am so thrilled to be apart of their #Omaginsiders group!
I have been watching Oprah on TV since before I can remember. I would watch with my Mom after school, then when I moved t NYC to model I would run home by 4pm to continue to watch her show. I was apart of her book club, then later read her magazine religiously! Ahh when her favorite things show would air .. it was truly a thrill to see what the hottest gifts were to give for the season, and it became a sort of season opener tradition. A kick off to the holiday season with Oprah. In 2000 I was modeling in NYC and got the call that I was working for the O magazine!! I was THRILLED to say the least. I felt so honored to have gotten chosen to be apart of the pages of her coveted magazine! I recently had my Mother dig threw the attic to find this photo from 2000, yes 17 years ago I walked this Labrador through central park. The beauty of Oprah Winfrey ,her magazine ,and show is who she is what she stands for .. just like this photo the look I am wearing (the look speaking about fashion is a lot like Oprah) … could be seen in a magazine today .. she is tailored, smart sophisticated , classic and never seems to go out of style .
That day and my moment in my life was an “ahh ha” moment for me. I went from watching her TV show at home to modeling for her magazine. At that moment I realized that any thing is possible. you must but your best self out there , day after day , with hard work and determination (you need to know what you want// set goals) and its just like what I tell my children, good things happen to good people .
All these years later I read in the O magazine that they were starting an O Mag insiders influencer program .. so I applied! And…. got asked to be apart of it!!! This really was dream come true to all these years later still be apart of The Oprah Magazine is truly a thrill! I am very happy to announce that I will be getting to help to review some fun new brands and products coming up in the next year along with getting to attend fun Magazine events through out this year! This I have decided will really be my year of adventure and I can’t wait to share it all with you !
