As we (I) get older, it’s all about the makeup and especially the “No Makeup” look. When I say no makeup, I am actually referring to ways in which to apply your makeup so that it looks natural and beautiful. So unlike the the actual name of this post, I am actually talking about how to apply a bunch of makeup so that it looks like you aren’t wearing any makeup. Are you following me?!? Haha!
I have learned that the key to success is using the right color concealer and a great BB cream that matches my skin tone. I like using Sisley Paris Eye Concealer with Botanical Extracts (in shade 2) and 3LAB Perfect BB Cream with SPF 40 in shade “Medium”. This is by far my favorite BB cream because it isn’t heavy at all yet it adds a vibrant sheen to my skin which results in lightening and brightening. Plus, it allows my skin to breathe all day!
Next, I enhance my brows by filling them in using the Chantecaille Waterproof Brow Definer in Oak Brown. I love this product because one side is a crayon that helps you fill in sparse areas and the other side is a brush so you can define your arches! If you touch up your brows I guarantee you will look more awake and youthful within seconds!
Now it is time to curl, curl, curl those lashes! Curling your lashes is like drinking a cup of coffee for your eyes! Time to wake up! I use the Charlotte Tilbury Life Changing Eyelash Curler but there are so many great options on Amazon!
Time to apply an easy and neutral eye-shadow. I use the Armani Eye Tint in Smoky Neutral because it is very easy to apply, blend and smudge.
Not everyone likes to powder but I’m old school and love to set my BB cream with a thin layer of powder (my favorite is Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Color SPF 15 in #10). I use a large bristled brush, dab the powder then sweep it over my skin and under my eyes. MAC makes a great brush and you can find it here.
Now comes the bronzing and contouring! When I say contour think light and easy not Kim Kardashian photoshoot level. I have been using this awesome By Terry Sun Designer Palette daily and it is my favorite. It is all you need in one! I use a flat brush and on one side I sweep the bronzer in a 3 zone starting on my forehead, down my cheek and across my jaw bone (I repeat depending on how dark I want my contour). Then with the pointed part of the brush, I apply blush on the apples of my cheeks!
Lastly, the finishing touch is a few coats of mascara! I have been using a growth mascara from Chantecaille for over a year now and a can really see the difference in my lashes. They are really getting fuller and longer!
I have mastered this routine in about 5 minutes it just takes practice! Practice makes perfect and if you mess up, all you have to do is use a makeup wipe and start over!
