Ok, normally this post would be about me jumping out of bed and heading to the gym…ha, not so fast (that starts tomorrow). Give yourself a break today and just chill out, relax, stay in bed and binge watch Netflix (I’m currently watching The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel). You deserve a day to relax, reboot, recharge and get ready for an incredible 2019! Since you’ll be lounging around today, I am going to give you some fun beauty hacks that you can conquer while relaxing.
1st on my list, a sheet mask! I personally love SK-II because it is so easy to use, it’s not gooey, it doesn’t drip or get messy and only takes 15 minutes to dry. While your mask is drying, might as well work on helping out your dry or split ends with a hair mask! Feel free to leave the mask on for as long as you need since it will be repairing your hair. I like using MoroccanOil Restorative Hair Mask or Oribe Gold Lust Transformative Mask.
Ok, so now you are working on your face and hair, time to move onto your hands! If you live in a cold climate (like me) you most likely have “crocodile hands” this time of the year. Eww…lol. I do not like having dry hands so I like to use hydrating hand gloves like this pair from Sephora. It is the BEST $8 you will ever spend. I like to use a hand treatment at least once a week, it really makes a difference and prevents my skin from cracking. For me, it is the ultimate form of pampering because you are forced to relax because you can’t pick much up while wearing the gloves. Yup, no texting for 10-15 minutes! I know it’s hard but you can do it!
So all in all, this year, I am going to focus on working in some “me time”. Yes, we all need to exercise, organize our homes but we also need some solid rest and relaxation. My newest form of R&R is waking up extra early (way before my kids or husband) and eating breakfast alone while watching the Today Show! A little peace and quite in the morning before the mayhem begins has made such a difference in my daily routine!
So my advice to you this year is to take a moment today and decide what will make you feel good this year. Whether it is “quite time” like me, or going to the gym more often, sleeping later, you name it, you can make it happen! Happy New Year to all of you. Wishing you an incredible 2019!
