The Great Wolf Lodge here we come!
My kids are at finally at an age where they actually enjoy traveling! No more pack n plays, no more diapers, no more milk bottles and no more scheduled naps! Its fab and really makes life a lot easier when it comes to traveling.
I’m recently all about getting to know places just outside the city. There are so many fun and amazing places to explore that are within driving distance. Lately, I’ve heard a lot about indoor waterparks and decided it would be a fun experience for the kids. I even overheard a mom at Cash’s school talking about the great time they had while visiting Great Wolf Lodge, so I decided to book a nights stay over Martin Luther King Jr. weekend.
I know I get excited about a lot of things, but let me tell you…this whole trip was a BLAST! The rooms are all themed and so kid-friendly! The kids had their own “wolf den” bunk bed area with their very own TV (big deal in our house)!
Our room had a king bed with a separate seating area; we even had a patio and microwave! The microwave definitely comes in handy when traveling with two small kids. Everywhere you turned, there was some fun activity going on whether it be story time with milk and cookies in the lobby or a fun dance party with great music. They even had indoor bowling and mini golf, a spa (where Kingsley and I could get mani/pedis), and ice-cream parlor and a great arcade that totally brought me back to my childhood (I must say, I am excellent at skeeball haha).
Now, lets focus on the water park, so much fun! Cash was loving all the big slides and did his best to get me to go on one…omg I’m such a scaredy cat…I stayed with Kingsley and played in the smaller kid pool and slides lol. Overall, I have to say we had a blast and I really look forward to going back!
I few pointers I learned while there…
-The food is horrible…I hate to say it but its true! I highly suggest bringing lots of PB & J and cereal.
-Bring your own bath robe and indoor water shoes/slipper…it was a pretty chilly run back to our room soaking wet after playing at the water park
-Bring a cooler, yes a cooler! I saw many families with big old beach coolers, packed with wine/bear and snacks for the kids.
Over all if I had to rate our stay, from 1 to 5 I would give it a solid 4! Only thing missing was good food.
