The title of this post, “Stay Young, Go Dancing”, reminds me of a 1950’s black and white movie; the type of movie where the young heroine puts on her best summer dress and dances with her beau under the stars on a summers night. Summer is about shedding the winter layers and taking full advantage of wearing lightweight and breathable fabrics. This is the perfect time of year to be feminine and flirty while wearing flowing fabrics. If you are anything like me, you have few staple dresses that have withstood the test of time (or at least the local dry cleaner and three summers in the Hamptons). I consider these dresses my “go-to” classics that work for various occasions. Most of my staple dresses are in neutral tones, black or white (kind of boring but wardrobe staples). This is where the “Stay Young, Go Dancing” comes into play…don’t only stick to classic styles; enjoy the hottest summer dress trends as much as possible. Read more on Dot Luxury!

Doesn’t this fab dress just scream summer at the beach? I love it! The cotton fabric is breathable and the length is not too short yet flirty. The nautical stripes are perfect for the season and with all that being said…who wants to go grab a lobster roll with me?!?
Ahhh the lemon print; it’s right up there with the ever so trendy pineapple! Ha! The trendy fruits of the season. I couldn’t resist this Banana Republic lemon romper. The combination of navy and yellow is everything for summer. I like that this has a 3-quarter sleeve and did you notice the ruffle detail? So cute! I wore this out to lunch in the South Street Seaport and received so many compliments!
Who can resist a perfect summer denim dress?!? I sure couldn’t! What I love about this dress? It fits like perfection. I wore it last week with a white t-shirt underneath to drop the kids at camp (a little more modest) but take of that tee and put on a bold earring, and a wedge to grab some rose after work.
Here we are, it’s summer! And with summer comes the 4th of July! This special day is only a week away and I am ready!!!! In need of a 4th of July outfit that can be worn all summer long? This dress is ideal! I have already worn it a few times and continue to receive compliments. Who says red, white and blue can only be worn on the 4th?
I love this look! A chambray shirt is always a staple in my wardrobe and it travels with me every season no matter where I go. It’s one of those fab staple pieces that works with everything. I am also loving this tiered poplin skirt from J.Crew. I love this lilac color but it is also available in navy and blue with white stripes which may be my next purchase!
Last year, I noticed this well-dressed crowd of people fluttering down towards Battery Park and couldn’t help but stare with envy. Where were they all going and how could I get in on the fun!? After much questioning and complimenting people’s outfits, I found out they were headed to the annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic in Liberty Park. I made a distinct note in my calendar to buy tickets for the 2018 Polo match so I could be a part of this spectacular event. Read more on Dot Luxury!
How fab is this jumpsuit?!? These neutral beachy tones are everything and perfect for summer! I recently found this at Nordstrom and had to have it. It fits true to size (I wear a Medium) and the tie at the waist is extra slimming and extra forgiving LOL!
