When the summer sun begins to fade away, the days feel shorter, and the leaves change colors, it’s a clear indication fall has arrived!

The crisp air has you reaching for some hot tea and a warm scarf (or a fab new hat…!). It’s the perfect time of year to leave the city and explore what’s outside the “concrete jungle”. There are so many beautiful places to visit within an hour car ride from NYC!
I was looking into places to visit outside the city and came across the Castle Hotel and Spa in Tarrytown, NY. As soon as I read the word castle, I was immediately drawn to this hotel. A castle, just outside the city?! I am a huge MADMEN fan and I’m pretty sure the Drapers lived in Tarrytown! Remember the easy train ride Don would take to and from work? Or the early morning quick and easy drives?
Well, that was me! I loaded up the car, and was in Tarrytown in 45 minutes! Metro North also runs from Grand Central to Tarrytown every 30 minutes! The train station is within walking distance from the adorable town that is filled with cafes and cute boutiques.
While exploring Tarrytown at night (aka trying to find our hotel after a delicious meal at theTarrytown Tavern) my friends and I drove a bit too far and ended up in SLEEPY HOLLOW!! Yes, headless horseman legend, the actual town of Sleepy Hollow! OMG, when I read the sign I almost drove off the road! How cool is that? Ending up in Sleepy Hollow so close to Halloween!
OK, so by far, the best part of the trip was staying at the amazing Castle Hotel and Spa. This is the perfect place to visit if you need a quick getaway from the city! The fall foliage was at its peak with gorgeous yellow, orange and red leaves in every direction. The grounds were breathtaking with beautiful decor and top-notch amenities! The rooms were elegant and comfortable with steam showers and (swimable) bathtubs. The restaurant located inside the hotel is called EQUUS and it is excellent!! This restaurant offers a unique dining experience with stunning views and delicious food.
THAAN Sanctuary Spa is another one of my favorites! The spa offers numerous luxurious treatments that are based on the art of natural therapy! The architectural design of the spa is also beautiful with a serene wooded landscape and floor-to-ceiling glass windows!
I highly recommend visiting the Castle Hotel and Spa! It is absolutely beautiful and so close to the city! Take the time for a quick getaway and enjoy a night or two at this gorgeous castle!
