Oprah’s Spring into Style Event!

I was so thrilled to be a part of Oprah Magazine’s Spring into Style event, which was held at the glamours NYC Hearst Tower. Let me start off by saying that this was one of my favorite events! I was so excited to meet Gayle King! It’s was St Patricks day! Note the green 🙂 She was so lovely and a Bravo fan! Who knew!! The day began with a fabulous breakfast buffet where I had the chance to mingle with a great group of woman, most of which were bloggers (pinch me, I’m one of them!).

If you’ve ever watched Oprah, you know Adam Glassman! Isn’t he fab?! He is truly such a fun, handsome and effortlessly stylish guy. He is also very engaging and seems to always be able to put a name to a face. With as many people as he meets, thats pretty impressive.

As we walked in to the main room, there were various mannequins showcasing Adams favorite spring trends and a great collage of looks straight off the runway. I love his style because it’s relatable and realistic! He spoke about must-have basic items…While he spoke, I was thinking to myself “Huh?!? I don’t have that but probably need it!” After he finished speaking, we all had the chance to ask questions. I asked Adam, “What is the perfect spring coat”? Without hesitation, he said a classic trench coat is a must-have transitional piece that will last year for years. He really is a style guru to the fullest!

Many of Adams favorite pieces were from JCPenney’s Worthington Collection. They really stay on top of trends and offer affordable pricing which is an extra bonus! Latest trends at a great cost?! Can’t beat that! Also if you see something that’s a great value but doesn’t fit perfectly, grab it anyway and take it to a tailor! (How do you think Kim K looks so flawless all the time? Because her tailor is on speed dial…lol).

For the first time, Oprah Magazine feature “real women” on the cover! Two of the women were at the event and it was awesome to meet them and hear their stories (especially the story about meeting Oprah!!). Can you imagine?!?! JCPenney’s styled some of the lovely cover models and partnered with O Magazine in order to showcase their fab spring looks. The beauty of Oprah and JCPenny’s is the fact that they appeal to women of all ages and sizes. Love it!

Adam broke up the event into different Spring Trends. I really appreciated a great, easy-to-follow break down, complete with photos.

Off-beat aristocrat look— (pair this with a white jean and a colored shoe)

Rainbow Brights– POP’s of COLOR! If you aren’t a big fan of color, take baby steps and slowly incorporate them into your wardrobe. You can start with a bright shoe, bold lip or colorful accessories!
