Staycation at The Conrad

We are beating the winter blues with a staycation! There is something fantastic about packing up an over night bag and getting away in your own city! The power of room service and a room with a view!

The kids and I decided to beat the winter blues with a staycation right in our own back yard! It’s hard to keep the kids busy when it’s so cold outside- sometimes I just run out of ideas! A few of my mommy friends had told me that they booked a staycation so I decided to do the same! It was the BEST idea! The Conrad is a beautiful hotel located in the heart of Battery Park with a fantastic view of the city and the Hudson River.

The kids were beyond excited when I told them we were going on a staycation at The Conrad. I have to admit, I’m not sure who was more excited…the kids or me! They packed their little bags Thursday night and I picked them up from school Friday afternoon and we went straight to the hotel for a fun filled weekend. We had a beautiful suite so as soon as we arrived, the kids took off to explore the room and jump around. They were extra excited to see that they had their own little Conrad robes and slippers! How cute is that?!? I love a hotel that is great for adults but also extremely kid-friendly.

After we settled in, we explored the hotel and took a quick look at the fabulous rooftop bar, Loopy Doopy! It is such a fabulous bar with an inviting atmosphere that is open during warmer months. We learned that the bar was actually named after one of the works of art found in the hotel! Loopy Doopy is a wall drawing by the legendary artist Sol LeWitt that is thirteen stories above the atrium level; it’s mesmerizing! We continued to explore the hotel and learned that there are over 2,000 works of modern and contemporary art throughout the hotel. Isn’t that amazing?

After learning all about the hotel, we had a delicious dinner at Atrio. The restaurant was beautiful, the food was so yummy and the kids’ menu was perfect! I ordered an arugula salad that was out of this world and a truffle pizza. Pasta for Cash, kids pizza for Kingsley! After we finished our yummy dinner we went back to our room and cuddled up in our robes and ordered an On Demand movie. And the next morning.. room service, breakfast in bed!  The kids had such a great time and it was so nice to change up our routine. If you are trying to beat the winter blues, I highly suggest a staycation! If you are looking for a kid-friendly hotel in the city don’t think twice…book The Conrad! There is so much to do in the area and you will absolutely love the hotel!
